Milan, the Italian economic powerhouse and vibrant metropolis of northern Italy, has long been celebrated for its fashion prowess and architectural elegance. Yet, beneath this cosmopolitan façade lies a culinary landscape that is equally captivating, a symphony of essences that reflects the city’s embrace of diversity.
Our gastronomic options have evolved from a stronghold of traditional Italian cuisine into a melting pot of flavors from all around the world. Renowned trattorias and osterias still serve up impeccable local delicacies such as “Risotto alla Milanese”, “Ossobuco” or “Cotoletta alla Milanese” upholding the city’s gastronomic heritage, without forgetting its roots.
Yet, alongside these establishments, a wave of ethnic eateries has emerged, making Milan a more welcoming and inclusive city and offering a variety of international options:
From traditional Chinese, to authentic Japanese Barbecue and the fiery spices of Indian curries to name a few; One of my personal favorites is the Senegalese specialty “Thiebou Jenn”; But you may also enjoy Filipino “Adobo”, Nigerian “Egusi” or Peruvian “Ceviche”.
This diversity has indeed also extended to the city’s nightlife; From intimate jazz clubs and sophisticated pulsating dance floors to cocktail bars and pubs, where innovative mixologists are crafting sophisticated concoctions, mingling exotic ingredients, vibes and sounds.
The Navigli district, with its picturesque canals and charming cobblestone streets, is abuzz with bars and restaurants, while Brera, the artistic and Bohemian neighborhood of Milan, offers a more sophisticated and refined experience.
The area located around Via Paolo Sarpi, known as Chinatown, is home to the Chinese Cultural Center, which hosts a variety of language classes, dance workshops, and art exhibitions. You can also find traditional Chinese medicine shops and herbal remedies, offering a glimpse into the rich history of Chinese healing practices. Last but not least, within the bustling heart of Milan’s Central Station, you may find the Central Food Market, a foodie’s paradise!
This is more than just a market, it’s a vibrant cultural hub, a place where people come together to enjoy the shared passion for food. The lively atmosphere is enhanced by live music performances, artisan demonstrations, and cooking classes, creating a truly immersive experience.
In our local Meneghin dialect there is a saying: “Milan l’è on gran Milan!” which literally means: “Milan, is a great Milan!”.
We would be honored to have the opportunity to prove to you why this is true, so please, trust your local Les Clefs d’Or Concierge and allow us to take you on a journey within our cosmopolitan oasis, no matter what your interests are, Milan is sure to delight you

Born in Italy to British expat parents, growing up, I never considered myself an academic. My grades were often subpar, and I struggled to find inspiration in the classroom. This led me to question my career path, unsure of what I was truly passionate about. It wasn't until I stumbled upon the world of hospitality that I found my calling. At first I was hesitant, but as I delved deeper into this industry, I discovered a hidden passion for creating unforgettable experiences for others. As a Concierge, I became the orchestrator of exceptional experiences and a problem solver. The moment I first donned the golden keys, a symbol of my newfound expertise, I felt a sense of accomplishment akin to a prestigious academic degree. These keys are not mere accessories; they represent the culmination of my passion, dedication, and the countless shifts. Hospitality became my university, where I learned valuable lessons about empathy, patience, and the power of human connection. It taught me that success is not defined by academic achievements but by the impact we have on others and the positive experiences we create. Today, I carry with me the pride of having found my true calling. My golden keys serve as a constant reminder of the journey that brought me here, a journey that transformed a confused teenager into a passionate Concierge, forever devoted to the art of Hospitality. But that's what makes my story so unique, I stumbled into this career by pure chance, and I've never looked back once. It's not just about opening doors and giving directions; it's about making a real difference in people's lives!
