“Reconnect with Yourself and discover the best of Mediterranean life and Gastronomy Along the Archduke’s Path.” I’m a history lover, and among the many fascinating figures in the history of our stunning island, one that has particularly captured my attention is Archduke Luis Salvador of Habsburg-Lorena. Born in Florence, he shared my Italian origins, yet his life was deeply intertwined with Mallorca. A pioneer in travel, languages, and geography, he became one of the most important cartographers of Mallorca, exploring and mapping the UNESCO-listed Sierra de Tramuntana.
Our revisited Archduke path begins in the enchanting village of Deià, where morning birds greet you at La Residencia, a Belmond Hotel, surrounded by nature’s beauty. If you’re not choosing a Vespa, (as I love), your private driver will guide you through the landscapes the Archduke explored in 1867. After a peaceful drive along the stunning coastline, you can get a glimpse of “S’Estaca,” the ancient Archduke’s residence, a collection of villas perched above the sea. Our first stop is Valldemossa, a picturesque village that also hosted renowned pianist Frédéric Chopin in 1838. Indulge in a visit to “La Cartuja” Monastery, now a museum, where Chopin composed some of his most famous works.
Next, enjoy a leisurely “berenar” (Mallorcan afternoon snack) at “Can Uetam,” a countryside café where you can taste the island’s finest charcuterie, including the iconic “sobrasada”.
Our journey continues to “Tienda Son Moragues,” part of a 500 year old estate known for producing exceptional organic extra virgin olive oil. You’ll have the chance to take home Mallorca’s golden liquid.
We then head towards the sea, as the cultural morning transitions into a refreshing afternoon. The road from Valldemossa to the port offers breathtaking views, ancient olive trees, and the scent of oranges and lemons. The highlight is Port de Valldemossa, an ancient fishing village perfect for a peaceful swim in Mallorca’s crystal-clear waters.
After your swim, enjoy a delicious meal at “Es Port” restaurant, just steps from the stone beach. Savor the freshest fish and mouthwatering lobster paella.
A peaceful nap, lulled by the sound of the waves, prepares you for the next destination: Sóller. Visit the 13th-century Cathedral of Sant Bartomeu, sip organic orange juice at the cozy patio of bar “Miga De Nube,” and wander down “Carrer de sa Luna” for local crafts and treats. Art lovers can dive into Mallorcan culture at the nearby Can Prunera Museum.
As the day winds down, continue along the path toward Port de Sóller. Your private boat awaits at the docks, where you can enjoy champagne and canapés while witnessing one of the most spectacular sunsets in Europe.
End the day with a Mediterranean dinner at Villa Luisa, where the finest cuisine is paired with the best wine of the island. After such a marvelous day, you may feel like you’ve stepped into a dream, but this is simply Mallorca, a paradise that both the Archduke and I fell deeply in love with.

Born in Italy, in the Veneto region, one of the country’s most visited areas, I developed a deep passion for hospitality from a young age. My grandfather ran a bar near the Cathedral of Saint Anthony in Padua, a meeting point for visitors from around the world. Surrounded by diverse cultures, I quickly learned to appreciate “the Art of Service”.
After studying Foreign Languages and Tourism Management at the University of Padua, I began my career in different 5-star properties in Venice, gaining experience in both front and back-of-house operations at some of the city's finest hotels.
My love for the Mediterranean led me to move to my favorite island, Mallorca, which I had visited as a child with my parents. Here, I pursued my passion for luxury service and had the unique opportunity to join Les Clefs d'Or. Being part of this prestigious association has allowed me to refine my skills and offer guests unparalleled experiences. What I love most about my job is crafting unforgettable experiences, fulfilling each guest's unique desires, and transforming their time in this Mediterranean paradise into something extraordinary, ensuring every stay is truly remarkable.
Nestled between the lush nature and majestic mountains of the Sierra Tramontana, La Residencia has been welcoming prestigious guests since 1984, offering the perfect setting for an intimate escape.
