London is a city brimming with history, attractions, and hidden gems, making it both an exciting and overwhelming place to explore. With so much to see and do, it can be difficult to know where to start, and that’s where a personalized touch makes all the difference. As a concierge, I always take the time to get to know my guests—understanding their preferences, likes, and dislikes—to curate experiences that feel uniquely tailored to them.
That said, there are some spots I personally love that often fly under the radar, far from the usual tourist paths. Below, I’ve highlighted a few of these lesser-known treasures that offer something special beyond the well-trodden landmarks.
One of my top recommendations is The Silver Vaults, an extraordinary underground antiques market located on Chancery Lane. Home to the world’s largest single collection of silver for sale, this hidden gem is far from the average tourist destination. Originally opened in 1885 as a safe deposit for wealthy individuals to store their silver, jewellery, and documents, the vaults have a fascinating history. During World War II, the building above the vaults was bombed, but miraculously, the vaults themselves were untouched, preserving much of their original structure and charm. By 1953, the vaults were transformed into retail units, and today, over 30 independent retailers offer a dazzling array of silver, jewellery, antiques, tableware, and decorative pieces. It’s an impressive and often overlooked spot and remains one of the most secure locations in the world.
Another personal favourite is Burlington Arcade in Mayfair, located just a short walk from 1 Hotel Mayfair. While often passed by without a second thought, this historic arcade, dating back to 1819, is a step back in time. Its beautifully preserved architecture and charming covered walkways make it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a more refined side of London’s history. As an avid watch collector, I can’t resist popping into The Vintage Watch Company, located within the arcade. Their unrivalled collection of vintage Rolex watches is a true standout, and it’s always a treat to window shop and admire these timeless pieces.
These hidden gems may not be on the typical tourist route, but they offer a deeper, more personal connection to London’s history and craftsmanship. Whether you’re a history buff, an antique lover, or simply someone seeking something off the beaten path, these spots will undoubtedly enrich your London experience.

From starting my career at The Savoy at just 16, my goal has always been clear: to become a Les Clefs d’Or Concierge. Eight years ago, I achieved this dream at the age of 21, becoming the youngest ever to receive the prestigious Golden Keys.
For me, being a concierge is more than a job—it’s a lifestyle. As Front Office & Concierge Manager at 1 Hotel Mayfair, I am committed to upholding the brand’s core values and instilling these principles in my team. By sharing my passion and extensive knowledge, I strive to enhance every guest experience.
What drives me most is the opportunity to inspire and mentor future concierges. I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors, and now, I aim to give back. Recently, I hosted the Concierge Educational Day, designed to equip the next generation of Les Clefs d’Or concierges with essential skills for success. Supporting my team’s growth and guiding others on their career paths is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role.
