Your Key To Rio de Janeiro Brazil 2025

Behind the Scenes of Classic Rio

Much more than the Christ the Redeemer statue and Carnival festivities, discover Rio’s beautiful landscapes, vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and warm, friendly people.
The iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer and the world-famous Carnival parade are probably the first images that come to almost everybody’s mind when we talk about Rio de Janeiro. However, Rio has much more to offer beyond these renowned attractions. This marvelous city boasts breathtaking views from above, making it truly worthwhile to visit places like Sugarloaf Mountain, either by riding its exciting cable car or taking an unforgettable helicopter ride over the city. There are also plenty of mountains to hike through our rich and vast urban forest, taking adventurous visitors to their peaks and rewarding them with unbelievable scenery.
Our historical sights are a remarkable blend of Portuguese and African heritage. You can visit beautiful churches, museums, and monuments built or inspired by the Europeans who arrived in the 15th century. Such as the prominent Aqueduct of Lapa, located in the historic neighborhood of the same name, which is considered the most bohemian area of the city. It is also an integral part of African/Brazilian culture, hosting many clubs and bars where you can hear and dance to traditional samba music.
Another important aspect of Brazil’s rich culture is our cuisine. Everyone who comes here must taste the flavors of our country. From the delicious and fresh tropical fruits to the tasty traditional dishes, like ‘feijoada.’ Made with black beans and pork, this dish was created by African slaves who used their creativity to make something unique. It remains an important part of ‘carioca’ family meals, and we often prepare it during celebrations, blending the food and samba music. It’s more than just a typical dish; it’s a key part of the cultural movement in Rio.
Music plays an important role in Rio’s cultural scene. It is how local people express their happiness and celebrate life. This could explain how musicians like Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes created memorable songs like ‘The Girl from Ipanema. Our visitors can enjoy a pleasant night listening to some Bossa Nova or dance until daylight to our samba music.
I truly believe that the greatest wealth Rio has is its people. Cariocas know how to welcome their guests in a very warm way. We treat everyone as if they were our lifelong friends and strive to show them the best parts of our beloved city. This undoubtedly has a very positive impact on the tourist experience. Rio has everything a city should have to stay forever in its visitors’ hearts.

I have always been a communicative person. From the beginning, I knew my life path would involve working with people, for people, sharing experiences, and assisting others. While studying tourism and hospitality in college, I did my first internship at the JW Marriott Hotel in Rio. I instantly fell in love with the hospitality industry and decided it was what I wanted for my career.

My first contact with the concierge world came when I was working at the Sheraton Barra Hotel at the front desk. A concierge friend of mine was always encouraging me to learn more about the profession, taking me to visit places with her and letting me assist at the concierge desk while I was there. Three years later, I had the opportunity to work with her at the Sheraton Rio's concierge in 2015, where I have remained until today.

I had the privilege of joining Les Clefs d'Or in 2016, having two members of my team as my mentors. I am honored to be part of the Brazilian board of directors, serving as vice president of development and new member recruitment today.
