In January 2014, Qatar was officially accepted as the 44th Independent Country Section of the Union Internationale des Concierges d’Hôtels. This announcement was made by the President of UICH, Emmanuel Vrettos, during the 61st Les Clefs d’Or International Congress held at the Royal Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Les Clefs d’Or Qatar was formed in 2010 at the InterContinental Doha, led by Randy Santos, who is currently the Past President of UICH.

The State of Qatar is a sovereign country located in Western Asia, occupying the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Since 2017, Qatar has ranked as one of the richest countries in the world. The country is currently focusing all its efforts on the growth and development of its people. The rulers of Qatar envision a future where every individual will enjoy a high standard of living with access to the best in healthcare, education, and other facilities. Sustainable living is one of their key goals for integration into society.

Qatar hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2022, marking a historic moment for the country and the region. It became the first Middle Eastern country to host the FIFA World Cup, showcasing its capacity to stage significant global events. Eight state-of-the-art stadiums were built or renovated, featuring advanced cooling technologies to ensure comfort for players and fans. Major investments were made in infrastructure, including the Doha Metro, to facilitate transportation during the tournament.

Today, with 24 International Les Clefs d’Or members and 8 local members. Through strong collaboration with Qatar Tourism, Les Clefs d’Or Qatar is recognised for its important role in the hotel industry, supported by our respective hotel management teams. You can experience a blend of futuristic cityscapes and deep-rooted Arabian culture. From exploring modern marvels like the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) and the stunning National Museum of Qatar, to luxury malls and diving into tradition at the ancient Souq Waqif for spices and handicrafts, there are plenty of experiences to enjoy. You can take dhow cruises on the Corniche, adventure into the vast desert for sandboarding or a safari, kayak through the tranquil Al Thakira Mangroves, visit Katara Cultural Village, and discover the unique marine life of the Persian Gulf.
